When we think about how are the beaches in the Canary Islands, usually they come to mind beaches of thick, dark sand due to the effect of volcanoes that dominate the islands. Indeed, Fuerteventura has paradisiacal beaches worthy of any postcard. Yes, the wind usually hit hard on the island and this is the reason why Fuerteventura is an ideal place for surfing to sailing or kite surfing spot. We travel with small so we were not raised to make any kind of sport more than swim lie out in the sun and playing with sand. Fortunately, during the month of August, just we made us wind and we enjoyed our goal.

In most beaches, you will find stone circles to protect you from the wind if it gets worse. They call playpens. As a shelter, you can put towels, parasol inside, wind, and sand. We stayed during our week on the island we concentrated mainly in the northern part of the island. In the south, there are other wonders such as the Natural Park we will try to visit another time. Then we go over the beaches we liked most northern Fuerteventura.

Along Corralejo and to the Great Sand Dunes south of the town, the sea offers a long coastline. One day I started to run in the morning along the coastline and discovered a few beaches that open to views of the island of Lobos and nearby southern Lanzarote. Among the beaches that exist, I did not see an excessive proliferation of bars, hammocks and other services.

Rather, uncrowned beaches are quiet even in August. Compared to the same port and accompanied by restaurants with terraces, a nice narrow beach rises. Here we can give a good bathroom, however, recommend that opens the beach next to the Hotel Corralejo Beach, about 200 meters south of it. This beach offers a great visual variety due to the impact of the tides. High tide will enjoy a good bath with clear waters. When the tide in the afternoon, can walk well into the sea and play with the shells and splashing water with little ones.
